First I must apologize for my stupid mistake of asking a software memory question in this forum/ Sorry for this upset. Now another question i will be installing full ver xp pro using ntfs selection. Presently where this is being installed on a PC with 2 hdd one of the hdd [slave] is running RedHat Linus 9.0. The other hdd master C: is running fat32 with a 98se os. So when I do the full install will it recognize my RH and leave as is giving me the capability of selecting on bootup that I have now with my Fat32?

Couple of clarification questions.
How do you currently boot into RH?
Where do you want to create the partition for XP?

Thank you Paul
I boot from the Red Hat manager screen it gives a selection/ DOS or Linux / Dos is the first and will wait approx. 10 sec if no selection it will auto too DOS Win98se.
I run 2 os sys from this PC using 2 separate HDD Master Slave
DOS on master RH on slave.
I would want to terminate DOS on my Master HDD and install XP as one partition using the complete HDD 60g also will use ntfs
Thanks for the support>>

I'm a Linux Newbie I'm afraid but I hope this at least keeps the post bumped into view.
If you had been booting to each drive separtely then there would have been no problem in just deleting the Win98 partition on the master and installing XP into the vacated unallocated space.
However, obviously lilo or grub or ?? is on the master drive and someone that has actually used these would give you better advice than any theoretical advice from me - especially since the installation will rewrite the mbr on sector 0.

Yes there should be no problem with installing XP too the HDD as one partition, but you are right Paul the MBR will be overwritten via XP install. What I had done before is I installed Win2000pro ntfs on one drive and tried to install Linux on the other but it would not install.
After many attempts with various bootloaders it would not go on the slave drive. So someone on here gave me a tip> that I should boot up using a floppy to get into DOS/ and access my CD Driver/ This I did and bingo I was able to install the RH Linux to the slave.
And when I booted up// the RH would give a screen similar to what I have now Linux as the first one // and DOS as the second / Only it was really Win2000pro / it just uses the name DOS for the other OS sys.
But now I am doing this backwards so I sort of put it up for some info that may help me.
