All of a sudden my pc has started asking for a password when I start-up, since I never created on I click cancel and it finihshes but its a pain. Also it asks for a password when I use my dial-up program and the remember password box is colored in so I can't click it, also when I log on to msn even when I clck sign me in automatically. I am using windows me, and a local ISP. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif

Seeing that you are using windows ME you can take advantage of the restore registry option. Go back and restore the registry to a date where you know the computer was running fine.

I already tried that, in fact I tried two differant restore points but it still does the same thing. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif With the exception of my msn home page it came up this time. But I think that just has to do with msn and not my 'puter settings.

Go into the network applet on the control panel and see if the Client for microsoft networks has been switched to network logon...if it has switch it back to windows logon and then when the Windows logon password box comes up click enter without entering anything...it will never ask again and you should have the save password back.

if it was free re-down load, if not free contact the supplier and tell them to give you a new down load (explain the situation)they should have no problem with that.

Lesson learned. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif When using windows me after installing or downloading new software or programs be sure to set a custom restore point indicating what was done last.Saves a lot of time and http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif headaches is you should have a problem later on down the line. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
