Just downloaded Soundblaster Live! update 3.0 When saving to file, I chose to name it SB Live 3.0. After 28.8 MB of downloading overnight, I found the download in the form of an AppleWorks (for Windows) file. When checking the properties on it, I find it is an archive. When I double click on it, AppleWorks starts up and tells me it is not an AppleWorks file or it's corrupted. How can I change this download into what it's supposed to be (a .zip)? Was it a mistake in renaming it when saving to file rather than leaving it at default name?

I don't think renaming is a problem, unless you change the very end. Like, obviously, you don't want to change an .exe file to a .wpd file or something. I rename all the time..makes it easier to keep track of files. I am not sure how you got what you think ought to be a zip file as an AppleWorks file though. Should have had to be unzipped first. The only time that I have encountered a similar problem is when I have tried to open a file in say Works that was created in a later version..and it can't read "higher"..only lower.
Hopefully, someone will be along soon who knows more than I do.

No, it's not a problem renaming files unles you also renamed the extension (if that's the case change the extension name back)
I think you ansewered your own question -
AppleWorks starts up and tells me it is not an AppleWorks file or it's corrupted.
Maybe you didn't get the full download.

csonni....
You got a bad download. Best thing to do is un-install and then use a different site to download again.
Been There.
