A new version of the Zone Alarm free firewall is available for download, hit "check for update" if already using ZA.

I updated to this new version a couple of days ago.

It has a new function called 'Ebay Protection Password' where you enter your EBAY password but, when I accessed certain sites, Zone Alarm threw up an Alert message asking (something about) wanting to send my password to the site in question.

I uninstalled this version, intending to return to my earlier version but, by this time, I had deleted the previous installation file.

So I again downloaded and re-installed the new version. This time I saw that there is an option to opt-out of this password function.

Until I fully understand what it's trying to do, I can live without this new feature.

I agree with waiting. I had an issue with incomplete boot on one XP client after the upgrade, did uninstall of ZA.
I guess it is time to try Kerio, seeing problems with Sygate in these forums.

Double click on the ZA taskbar icon
Then click on the bottom tab ( ID LOCK )
From there you can control the new option completely

What it is doing is simple.
It is stopping sites from calling your E-Bay ID up ..

Unless the site is listed in your settings under ID Lock
It's intended to stop identity theft

Think of the number of people who have “ remember me and auto log me onto this site “
set to YES for Ebay
Now think of the Number of them who don’t know that this info can be obtained by almost any site with the correct code in their page

Rick: For the life of me I cannot find the ID LOCK, despite seeing references to it in the Helpfile.

Am I the only one?

The Tab/settings notation is on the left side Under the e-mail tab

This feature may be disabled in the free version

I am running the Pro paid version

Thanks for explaining it to me. It's strange that the 'free' version mentions this in the helpfile.

The feature is in the program you have.
It’s just not access able till you enter the registration number ( Paid Mode)

Saves the hassle of having to download another version if/when you decide to buy it
