Hi!

I have just installed windows xp pro ,and just finished installing Norton 2003. But when going online and updating Norton at the end of the update I got this message: Live update couldt not finished the update. And ther comes a list with a lot of files update could not install, like this:

Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1

File: C:\progr\common filefiles\symantec\ccApp.ex
ccEmlPxy.dl
ccEmlUI.dl
ccErrDsp.dl
ccEvt.dl
ccLgView.ex
ccPwdSvc.ex
ccRegMon.dl
ccRegVfy.ex
ccShtDwn.ex
ccWebWnd.dl

Anyone know why I got this message?

Did you try it again. I have had the update fail a number of times and I just go back later. Usually it works on the second or third try....

I have occasionally had problems where Norton AV caused problems with Windows Update patch downloads, actually having to turn off the NAV and doing the downloads.
This can be risky these days due to Blaster, et al infecting from the Internet all by themselves.
Where far along are you on the Windows Update process so far?

Hi!
Thanks for your answer.I have tryed uninstalling NAV twice , but always the same problem, and I have tryed at a lot of times, updating NAV.
I have done windows update,it seems to be updated, the most importants update(but of course I got the blaste virus, but have removed it with a download from NAV.
But when I go to windows update there is some more updates, but I think I got the most important,do I need to download all the available downloads?

You can be somewhat selective, but most contain a patch for some security hole and if you don't install it, you are vulnerable.

With NAV you may have to follow their instructions for completely removing it from the Registry and so on to fully uninstall and they reinstall. I had to do the process once and it was a PITA...
