If youve read my previous topic you know that im having trouble with
my AOL Instant Messenger program running everything if not well heres the scoop.About 5 months ago I downloaded Aol Instant Messenger. There hadnt
been any problems with it until i downloaded a program from a buddy icon site. The program is called IconForge. It enables you to edit buddy icons. I immediately deleted the program cause it was pretty boring and slow. after i deleted it,the
problems began occuring. Every
time i try to access a file(i.e. a wordpad document)
AOL Instant Messenger is opened. I dont know how to fix this or why
it is happening but it is really aggravating and i need to figure out how to fix these problems. so if you can provide assistance i would appreciate it.For those of you that have reploed thanx for your help but i caant access installation programs either.

can you access "Add/Remove Programs"? You might need to uninstall AIM, then reinstall it. Sounds like when you uninstalled the buddy icon thing, it took some association stuff with it.

First thing I guess would be some system info.
second iguess is how did you delete this did you go through add and remove and if so have you checked to see if there is any reminance of it still in file and folders? I have a program now I'm dealing with you can delete it but it attatches it's self to the registry and I haven't had the nerve to go in and change it yet, not a fun task.
But on to your problem,Have you gone to there web site and ask for a MANUAL REMOVE they should supply you with one? That may be the only alternative. post here and we'll try to go from there opps didn't see bassman there he he
