I have been trying to get into the TomCoyote forums for the last 12 hours or so without success. I was getting a page requiring me to log in, but when I did, it took my back to the same page. Now I am getting an error message: "Invision Power Board Database Error" with this text in a box:

mySQL query error: SELECT t.*, f.topic_mm_id, f.name as forum_name, f.quick_reply, f.id as forum_id, f.read_perms, f.reply_perms, f.parent_id, f.use_html,
f.start_perms, f.allow_poll, f.password, f.posts as forum_posts, f.topics as forum_topics, f.upload_perms,
f.show_rules, f.rules_text, f.rules_title,
c.name as cat_name, c.id as cat_id
FROM ibf_topics t, ibf_forums f , ibf_categories c
WHERE t.tid=1171 and f.id = t.forum_id and f.category=c.id

mySQL error: Table 'coyote_forum.ibf_topics' doesn't exist
mySQL error code:
Date: Sunday 30th of November 2003 01:22:39 PM

There was something about changing the server in the login page I was getting before, but I got a notice of a reply since then and it is leading to the same error page. Does anyone know what is going on and is anyone else having the same problem???

Thanks,

I get the same thing here, looks like that server has a problem? I had different link into it, same thing.

I get the same message. I think that the forums may well have exceeded the allocated bandwidth. There were warning messages there yesterday that some pages were inaccessible.

The MySQL server used by the forums is causing problems; the site itself is accessible. I guess they are working on it because "('root@localhost' (Using password: NO))" is the default setting that would give complete access to the database were it allowed. This would normally be disabled and the php scripts would instead point to the database using a named user with a password.

Perhaps they have even been hacked and the php scripts tampered with.

PS mySQL error: Table 'coyote_forum.ibf_topics' doesn't exist
Missing Tables in a Database is quite a different thing from an access denied error!! Hope they had their database backed-up.

The server over there is now working, FYI.

What happened was about 11:00PM on Saturday, Coyote` started moving his site to a new server, so some of the problems stemmed from waiting for the new IP propegate. Also some of the problems came from getting all the directories in the right places, etc....

Yeah, I saw the explanation there once I could get back on, but couldn't see it when it was down of course... I was a little worried that it was something wrong with my setup or with the site, so I am glad it was just a switch over...

Just logged on also to TC and had just the slightest delay after entering my pass word (Which the TC forums had forgotten):D

Yep, the passwords were one of the "casualties" of the move..so you should go and log in again if you haven't. It will probably take another day or two for everything to be back to 100% normal.
