I would download "real" java from Sun Micro
here (http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_manual.jsp)

Yes pages that contain Java do require that it be installed on the machine doing the viewing so that the browser can make use of it.

And the j2re-1_4_2_01-windows-i586.exe file is real java.

Point taken Pave,

Just was going to point out the issues with M$ JVM as opposed to newer Java versions. If downloading it I will choose newer version.

For those using Non-US english consider using the j2re-1_3_1_08-windows-i586-i.exe version.

I know that there was some issue using the other version here with Irish-English (LOL) though for the life of me I can't remember what it was - "to be sure".

MS JVM does not equal any of the Sun java packages.

Sun = "real" Java.

Also, as a side note...it has been confirmed, even the "patched" versions of the MS JVM are vulnerable to the ByteVerify bug.
