I've just seen a very interesting article concerning the new version of Norton AV.
As some may know, Symantec (Norton) have now gone the way of Microshaft (even more annoying news about them in a minute) and insisted on product activation. However, the activation process has some problems, which means that virus updates may not occur - some users have attempted to update virus definitions only to be told that their product is not activated, or there has been a problem with activation. the only solution is to reinstall and reactivate. There is a limit to the number of times you can do this, and problems can occur.

now the microsoft bit - has anyone seen this? is it correct? has microshaft reduced the cost of XP and waived the activation for Thailand, whilst the rest of us pay through the nose?
