OK, I got Mandrake linux. Many problems, one at a time

First one the printer.

I have a canon s520. The wizard find the printer on LPT 0 ( thought it was on lpt1 ( is this a counting issue)) it reads the printer correctly it starts up and then...........blinking light. I found a site that states I need to enter a eof command. What? (www.linuxprinting.org)

I hope someone can help. I ahev many other hardare problems. I am ready and eager to learn,. i just need to figure out where to look and what to do!

I would try "print" in lowercase, just a guess.

Canon printers can be a real pain to configure under Linux, so make sure you have the latest printer stuff available.

I am using the KDC GUI, so the print command is with a mouse click.
Where do I get the latest canon driver and how do I install the driver?

I am so new at this.

Linux-Printing Canon FAQ (http://www.linuxprinting.org/canon-faq.html#s_26)

The relevant section for your problem seems to be

26.2 How come it doesn't print, even though the data light is blinking?

Enable Send EOF in the driver options.

Im not familiar with mandrake so I dont know how you would enable EOF (End Of File) or even where the driver options can be found. Hopefully someone else knows where that particular configuration option is located.
