Even if its not running now - its archives would have been created if it had been running anytime in the past.
Some quite interesting things about FF HERE (http://sillydog.org/mshidden21b.html) (see Section 8) and the "super hidden" nature of its activities.

Hi Paul,
some interesting stuff indeed, but we've known for some time that these 'hidden files' are there, and no matter waht info we find I think that there will still be some there unless we can 'wipe' the drive completely, (or at least the free space, whilst it's still in use.) but then upon re-boot, the progs will be re generated and off we go again.
I, like many others or the forum are using several progs to reduce the amount of info that is hidden on the pc (against our wishes.) but it surprises me that no one has yet come up with a program to definately identify disc space, like ??????mb in user files. ?????????? in sys files ????????????in UNAUTHORISED hidden files. so that we can identify each drive/partition and account for the space taken up, and if un accounted do something about it.
but for Find Fast, why should it be deleted in DOS ?
I assumed it was because it was 'active' so couldn't be deleted until windows shut down. but I deleted find.exe and findfast.cpl without problem. and it did not re-create after re-boot.
thing is that I am not very familiar with Dos, as it is little that it is used now by the likes of me and supposedly going out anyway, so is there any point in learning ?
having said that, a 'brief' guide would be an advantage for the occasional use, but most guides seem to be well over the top and/or assume that you half way know it anyway.
