At the end of the day,I shut my computer, printer and monitor off. However, when I come to work the next day, my PC power is on. There is no one in the office, so I'm sure no one is screwing with me.

We are runnig NT 4.0 on a Compaq 500. I taked to our system administrator and was told "not to worry about it, most NT systems work that way". I'm not going to worry about it, but would like to know how I can fix it myself. Can someone help?

I'm sure some one will help you out here but if you have a systems administrator and he said don't worry about it then why. it's his but not only that your a federal employee I paid for that computer or helped leave it alone http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

As to a possible why...many motherboards have a feature called Wake on LAN, if it is turned on when the server comes back online (if yours is like most offices most server maintenance is done outside of normal business hours) the computer will "come to life"...
