Are there any other poets who'd like to post a short piece or two?

This one sounds better than it reads, but here it is anyway...

Santa Cruz

Walking, racing, sidewalk chasing
Spacing the stride with square after square of
Concrete paths midst galleries, emporiums,
Cafes and thrifts, sidewalk drifts
Under steel girders and joists joining
Jostling clubs with strings on dancers,
Selling short-lived memories for money.
One A.M. and the strings are cut,
The lights go off and dancers go home-
Walking, racing, sidewalk chasing.

I like it, pentachris..brings up some nice mental images. Think there are probably many here who wrote some poetry in their younger years, but moved on as time went by to other things for release. I have a folder with my poems of long ago, but most are depressing and many (looked several years ago) are truly BAD poems. I suspect the actual poets among us stuck with it, and got better (lol), and wrote as much happiness as depression.

I Like Coffee!

I like coffee black,
When I have no cream.

I like coffee in the morning,
Then again, I like coffee in the evening.

Coffee makes me fart,
I don't know why I said that.

I like Tim Horton's coffee,
Because I am willing to wait in line for a cup.

Most of all, I like coffee because;
I get headaches if I don't drink it.
