I know it's because I have a Win98/XP dual booting setup that I can no longer get the startup options menu just for 98. Instead after tapping F8 I only get the one for XP. How can I re-configure the boot.ini file so as to get the 98 as well?

Thanks,
Quantax

if I am reading you correctly
Boot into 98 and go to RUN and type MSCONFIG.
Now look for and select "Show Boot Menu" reboot when asked.

Or do you mean that you do not have the choice of OS's?

Boot to Windows 98, Run msconfig -> advanced -> 'enable startup menu' option. That will produce the Windows 98 Startup Menu every time you launch Windows 98 (one extra keystroke to get Windows 98 to boot). That is if you press F8 before the XP bootloader loads you will get the start menu of XP, If you select Windows 98 in the XP bootloader, you will get the start menu of 98 every time you launch it.

You can still use F8 but only after hitting enter for the boot menu choice - and it has to be IMMEDIATELY after hitting enter - as fast as a machine gun.
