Hi, got a AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz and it`s working quite well at 63 Cº. Anyway i would like to bring that number down. What temp should I point to? What kind of cooling should I try?
Actually got PS Fan and CPU fan working.

I use thermaltake sk6 HSF and a little arctic silver II to keep my 1.333 cool. Works pretty good....I run about 53c under load.

Jeronimo....

As your post stated 63C. Please let us know which system/software give you the temperature readings. Some are not very accurate. Some are ballpark close.

If in fact that is a fairly accurate reading I would try to get it lowered as soon as feasible.

Are you presently using the retail version Heatsink/fan that came with the CPU? (Coolermaster)

Ask five different guys which HS/F unit they like best and you'll get four different answeres.

IMHO go with an all copper unit. With a fan that will spin 5K or better. The better units have a 7K rpm fan, a little noise but they really work.

Luck.

Check these sites out and make your conclusion, i would shoot for 45 to 50, some motherboards run hotter than others, i look at it if it not locking up or freezing , just leave it alone.
Also if you get a 7k heatsink , hook it uop to a big molex connector not a motherboard connection.

Are you folks talking about Celsius or Centigrade temperatures? 63C is 145F, and I would expect your CPU to be fried at that temperature.

45-50C is 113-122F which seems a bit hot to me.
