Bush signs bill outlawing Spam (http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1071576066320&call_pageid=968350072197&col=968705923364)
I went to check my email and had several spams. I wonder if there's a site where you can report spammer emails or Ip's?

Sounds great in theory, but how can it be enforced? Most spam I get doesn't come directly from the person that originated it? Makes you wonder how they will handle it. I can't believe that a "Do not email" list will work, if there is no easy way to track who sent it in the first place. Maybe I'm wrong about the ease in which an originating IP or email address can be found. Those smarter than myself will have to work that out.

It almost seems it will end up like the RIAA.

I've been reading about the various proposals for a long time and this is not likely to do much more than get people to stop demanding a law for a while. The do not SPAM list is almost certain to be abused and the law really doesn't provide a means for finding and dealing with the most obnoxious SPAMmers. It was written to keep the industry lobbyists happy while giving the appearance of doing something about the problem... A lot like the new Medicare bill that will make the rich richer and put most seniors in more trouble than they had before... Lot of show and little substance....

"This will help address the problems associated with the rapid growth and abuse of spam by establishing a framework of technological, administrative civil and criminal tools, and by providing consumers with options to reduce the volume of unwanted e-mail."
Basically the same crud the Australian government is trying to peddle.
Can anyone say "Pigs Arse".
Gotta go with Bumpus on the enforcment. Not going to happen. I can just see the the FBI busting down doors to catch someone in the act of sending a "Would you like a bigger penis" email.:p

Don't laugh.
I have had spam e-mail asking me if I wanted breasts like - I forgot the name, a famous model... not really, no thanks
I prefer them where they belong - on someone else, of the female persuasion... :p
