Sauron who?

He's evil, He's unkempt, he's slippery, he's ugly, and as of this morning He's officially out of business.

Man oh man, how wouldja like to be the regiment captian that put that eel face down in the dirt, put his boot on the back of his neck and the point of a spear at his head and said "Your ride is here."

And if I may indulge in a little political posturing, Everybody who said that the war againt Mordor was a farce and that Aragorn was a loser had better check their Cliff notes.

:D :D Realy no offence intended Yawningdog, I just couldn't resist!!

All this to say: I just saw the Return Of The King and would like to share this with all you good people: IT"S GREAT!!

Whatever little slips Peter Jackson made in the second one, in the final chapter he realy makes up for it, end then some. Man oh man, does he know how to make a movie! Catering to both the die hard Tolkien-adepts as well as to the people who haven't read the books at all. Big thumbs up! ;) :p :D

Actually I thought both 1 and 2 were great... I probably won't see 3 for about 6 months, but I am looking forward to it as well....:)

Ill being seeing the third one on boxing day with my dad, just like the first 2, since we're both big Tolkien fans.:D Looking forward to it.

I thought they made smeegol far too comical in the second rather than making him seem disturbed and dangerous, but the rest was certainly decent.

I'll be seeing it Saturday with my son. I read it's 3 1/2 hours long and worth every cramp! Hard to believe the last installment is here already. So far 1 and 2 have been worth it. Even though they strayed from the book, there was no way they could follow it page for page. The news tonight showed 1500 people waiting in line to see it. I'll wait and be happy!

RotK is an awesome movie. Just finished watching it. The large scale battle sequences will blow you away.
Absolutely brilliant job - the best of the 3!

Oh, by the way pave spectre - you want a different smeagol/gollum?........just wait and see:D

Here's an interesting tidbit about the movie - for the huge, climactic battle scene near the end, programmers created each individual computer-generated warrior with its own repertoire of battle moves and decision making abilities. The biggest problem they ran into for the first two years was trying to keep them from running away to save their own lives! Read more here (http://www.canada.com/montreal/montrealgazette/story.asp?id=7530006A-C103-4E13-9A55-F6EFCC111ACC).

I'll be going to see ROTK with my wife; we'll either rent, borrow or buy the first two on DVD to watch again before we go. I'm eager to check it out! :)

I am not sure you can collect geek points for this series of films, they are probably some of the most watched films ever and probably by far more nongeeks than geeks....:p :D

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a Mumakil ? Don't remember having heard about it when reading the book.

Amazing what you can find with a simple Google search: Mumakil charge... (http://www.theonering.net/scrapbook/movies/rotk/view/10034)

Offense? Nonsense Abbadon. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. You honor me.

Saw the film. I realize the comparasin is a but unfair, but Minas Tirith makes the death star look like South Park. Absolutely stunning film. Three and a half hours felt like ten minutes, I didn't want it to stop.

But most importantly, It gave me the exact same feelings of exhilaration, mirth, and bitter sadness that I got from reading the books. If it were up to me, the oscars would be a mere formality this year. Stunningly beautiful scenery, seamless special effects, and unforgettable character development (Yeah, that Legolas is something else, huh?) all combine to make this a must see in every sense of the term.

I've kind of always wanted to be a film critic. Thanks for humoring me everyone.;)

Jokes aside, I still won't be seeing it for a while, but I can't wait!
