I am using MSN as my ISP. I recieved a MSN8 disc along with the modem/router they sent me. I installed the disc only to have access to setting up another e-mail account. The disc caused my PC to run sluggish and to also freeze and need to be rebooted. I had expected this, so I set-up my new e-mail and uninstalled the program. I use my IE6 for browsing, and I use Outlook express to read my e-mail (I had MSN tech. support help me set it up to use OE). I noticed that during setup of OE, I am now using an http account to read my e-mail. I have noticed that my NAV does not seem to scan when sending or recieving e-mails. I looked around in NAV help and found where it says that the supported e-mail types are POP3 and SMTP. My question now is, are my e-mails being scanned at all? MSN says that their e-mail servers scan e-mail with McAffee AV. Do you think my e-mail is being scanned by them, or do I have to have the MSN8 disc installed to have the e-mail scanned?
I was skeptical about using MSN but was assured I could use IE6 and OE instead of using MSN8. If it seems that my e-mail is not being scanned, can I use NAV to scan my OE files after my e-mail is recieved or is it too late by then. Sorry about the vague info. as I am not too familiar with the whole e-mail, NAV, MSN programs. If there is any other info that you need, let me know and I will see if I can find it. Thanks
