I installed Windows, then RedHat (with LILO) on a single hard drive. I decided I didn't want to keep RedHat on the hard drive so I want to format the entire drive and use it all for windows. If anybody knows how to format the entire drive (so there aren't any partitions afterwards) please post a link to directions or something.
Thanks,
-Joe

Hi,
You can use the fdisk utility which came along with the Linux installation files to delete the Linux partitions. Then boot using a boot up floppy and run DOS Fdisk to reclaim the space as another DOS Partition. Of course, by this you will loose all data on the linux partitions. The alternative is to use the partitionmagic SW.
I assume that you had used dual boot to install Win and Linux. So, in case the LILO propmt shows up on boot up, then follow this http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q171/6/11.ASP to rewrite the Master boot record.
Hope it helps.

The following articles can also help to anyone who were dual boting Windows and Linux and now want to remove Linux.

You can also fdisk then use partition magic -- in some cases lilo wants to remain on the drive, so you need to make sure and fdisk /mbr as well then fdisk and make your partitions then format/
