I have noticed when visiting many websites it shows "IP logged" with our proxy server ip number at their page, I don't think it is good to let everyone have my ip address, so is there any way/software free or not which will let me surf through another proxy or at least hide my IP
Thanks

Is this related to your firewall/P2P filesharing post?

Ok, here we go again....

In order to have any two way communication on the Internet you need some form of addressing.

That addressing is called an Internet Protocol address.

Your IP is not really anything all that significant. Think of it as the license plate number on your car (yes, new analogy.. :D). Now, the license plate is rather visible and it is often "logged".

All web servers, whether they say it or not, log IP numbers, the length the logs are kept ranges from a few minutes to forever.

Anonymous proxies are not very secure..especially the free ones, which are most often hacked or misconfigured machines, legitemate ones must surrender their logs to law enforcement authorities. This is in addition to the fact that all those extra connections slow down surfing dramatically....

The simple fact is they are not needed. Logging is a normal, needed part of making a connection and the disadvantages of using one out wiegh the advantages.
