I fixed my problem in my previous post by enabling DMA on my hard drive. However, Norton is telling me that I have an error in my memory. Each stick tests ok seperately using Norton's diagnostics, but when combined, produce an error. The error occurs in the same location each time. I tried every combination of slots on the board. I am going to get each stick tested tommorrow, but I figured maybe someone might have some advice tonight.

have you tried a single stick in each slot? If it will even read a single stick in different slots http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif . It may be a bad connection in one of them.
1 stick in slot 0, test.
1 stick in slot 1, test.
1 stick in slot 2, test...etc...

If I tell you to think for yourself, then you're not doing it.

I just upgraded my BIOS, which claimed to have better RAM compatibility, but to no avail. I asked a few tech guys and they said that the two different brands might not be compatible. I tried single sticks in each slot and it tested ok. Its only when they are used together. Also, I get a blue screen occasionally that says my memory is running low and that Norton is having some sort of problem running. I will find out tomorrow if the ram is any good.

I bought some new ram yesterday and put it in. Still gives an error. I contacted PNY, who made the ram, and they said it was a problem with Norton and Windows. So with a few minor changes to my system.ini file, the problem went away. I knew it was Windows all along. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
