Hello,

When i start my pc, it throws me the following error:

Error loading bs3.dll, the specified module cant be find.

I tried to search for this dll from regedit and then unset the value. But still it throws me the error.

Earlier last week, I had a worm and I removed it with norton anti-virus and removed the registry as it was mentioned in the norton webpage.

Any ideas to fix this one?

Thanks in advance

That dll is part of malware:

X
Bsx3
Rundll32.exe bs3.dll, DllRun
BookedSpace parasite variant

You may still have some malware installed since trojans often travel in groups. It would probably be a good idea to run Spybot and/or AdAware after updating them to make sure you have the latest definitions. Use them to fix any problems they clearly mark as a problem. Then reboot and run HijackThis and Save the log so that you can Paste it here. Close all browsers and reenable any programs that you disabled in msconfig, run the Scan and Save the log. Open your browser and come here to Paste the log into a Reply. Do not make any changes until you get feedback about possible problems. You can find links to download the programs in my signature....

Hello,

I've run adaware and removed all the suspicious objects and couple of them were not able to be removed and it has asked me if they have to be removed in the first re-boot and i said YES.Now no more damaged objects have been found.Interestingly when i re-started my pc i found 2 dll files are missing. They are bs3.dll and bsx5.dll

The following is the log file which had showed after scanning with hijackthis.

How shld i fix them?

You can fix these with HJT:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bxsx5] RunDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\bsx5.dll,DllRun
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Bsx3] RunDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\bs3.dll,DllRun
O16 - DPF: {F0230524-9D39-4E84-8452-41C592961EA7} (Installer Class) - http://www.4wav.com/Config.cab

I don't know what these are and didn't do a Google search to find out. Do you recognize them??

C:\WINDOWS\system32\crypserv.exe
C:\MATLAB6p5\webserver\bin\win32\matlabserver.exe

After you use HJT, reboot and see if the error message is gone, then run another HJT log, open your browser and post the new log....

To avoid recurrence banish them completely from your system. Search for and remove any of the following entries found in your windows directory

bs2.dll
bs3.dll
rem00001.dll
oo4.dll
bsx5.dll
bxxs5.dll
