Thanks to all of you for your great advice in advance! Since reading this forum tonight I have installed Spybot, AdAware & Zone Alert. Pretty good considering I'm blonde. Problem is...I thought I was smart & tried to remove some fonts from my system (to help with memory?), but now when I view other websites they are fine, but when I go to print I'm printing what looks like a mistral font. This also shows up in my incredimail in-box, I have to go into encoding & change it to baltic ISO. It's like my computer has a bad default font & I don't know how to change it. I'm sure this is simple for all you experts, but could someone pls explain it in plain english for this beginner?

Welcome to the PC Guide Forum

What operating system are you using on the computer?

Some fonts are necessary for Windows to operate properly, these are usually shown in Red type, don't delete those or those with MS in the title either.

More users will be here shortly, please be patient while we research your problem.

Since you mention baltic ISO and websites this raises the question of whether your problem (a) only relates to websites and (b) only relates to certain websites using baltic languages or whether it relates also to fonts (and encoding) elsewhere on your pc.

Are you having any problems with fonts in other applications such as Word or WordPad?

As well as the OS, which version of Internet Explorer is installed?

What Language is set under the Regional Settings in Control Panel?

Im on WIN 98, IE is 6.0 & the language under the regional setting is English. I should have been more specific, this happens in websites, email, word & word pad. For example I went into my favorites for my local weather

http://www.crh.noaa.gov/forecasts/ILZ039.php?warncounty=ILC053&city=Gibson+City

The dark blue lines with "forecast at a glance" and "detailed 7-day forecast", etc are all fine. Where it says "this afternoon", "tonight", Monday", etc they are all fine. But the rest is all in this weird, hard to read font.

Under the "detailed 7-day forecast" I highlighted & copied part of the description that was in this font & copied it to Word Pad. Yet itt looks fine in Word Pad? Any ideas???

Also sometimes it looks fine on a website, but when I print it, it comes out in this font?

Although this mskb (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=146904) doesn't directly relate to your problem it does show you how to restore the fonts folder.
