View Full Version : Any benefits to Partitioning?

I have a newer Dell with a 120gb HD. Im an average user with this machine. I would say this machine is used mostly for the internet, kids gaming is second and digital camera third.
Would I benefit at all by partitioning the harddrive? It is currently formatted as sent by Dell. ie: C drive only.

OS is Windows XP home edition.

This may be redundant... I wouldn't set up a computer now without partitioning. With the huge drives and the need to do backups and other maintenance, it would be way too much hassle to have just one huge partition. I have a whole bunch of 10 and 20 gig partitions on my drives... Programs in some, OS in some, data in some and so on....
