Thanks for the earlier responses.

I installed a PC800 RDRAM (256 RAM) alongside the existing 256. The only problem is that I had a NON ECC installed and was mistakenly told at Fry's to get an ECC version (I did not take the existing one out to look at it before I went otherwise I would have known).

So, my problem is that supposedly the unmatched pair (ECC and non EEE) is not supposed to work together, but according to PROPERTIES and the AIDE32 program they are working at 512 total RAM.

Could anyone shed some light on this discrepancy ?

Thanks in advance, Mark

There's nothing wrong with using ECC and non-ECC memory together, it's just not usually done. The key here is that you must be using unbuffered ECC RDRAM, correct? As far as I know, registered RAM has problems with unbuffered RAM, but ECC isn't a problem.

Take the ECC RAM back if you want. Otherwise, don't worry too much about it.
