Sometimes when I am using my computer, it clicks (inside the computer) and shuts down and freezes. After you turn it back on it does not start windows, it says Operating System Not found.. If we leave it off for a period of time (about a hour) it comes back normal.. But this happens all the time. Help would be appreciated. If anyone else is having this problem, Please post also.
Thanks.

Hello RealSmartCard,

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

I would suggest that you run the diagnostics your Harddrive. These can be downloaded from the Harddrive manufacturer's web site...

I would first open up the case and try and find out what is making that noise. Just in case it's your HDD (which is my guess) you should back up anything you need or want to keep. Also when your in there get the make of the drive and go to the manufacture's site and download their utilities and run the tests. Your HDD may be going down the crapper.

It also sounds like you could have a fan failing and the computer overheating... When you open it up to find out where the noise is coming from, you can check for any fans that seem to be running erratically. Also, if the hard drive checks out okay, try running a small desk fan blowing into the computer and see if you still have the problem. If you don't, it probably means it is overheating. Also, if it is really dusty inside, get some canned air and blow it out...
