Hello everybody.
A simple question.
I know that in messenger, a remote terminal session (control a computer
from another one) can be used between two computers with windows XP.
Can it be used between a computer with XP and another computer with
windows 98?
Thanks and sorry for my poor English.

You can remote control a win XP machine from any version of windows. You will need to install the Remote Desktop Connection software on it of course!

It is not possible to control any version of windows other than XP natively. There is, however, 3rd party software out there such as Nortons PCAnywhere which would allow you to do that.

I am not sure to understand you.
Are you saying that client may be any version of windows, but server
must be XP?

Go here to get the software you need :

remote connection client for windows operating systems (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/rdclientdl.asp)

Install it on your windows 98 computer and you should be good to go.

please note: You will only be able to control the XP computer from the 98 one. The client software does not allow you to control the 98 computer from the xp one. ( at least not the last time I checked :) )

For that you might want to get VNC (free) (http://www.realvnc.com/) or Pcanywhere.

Good Luck :)
