Windows XP system Sony Vaio Pen. 4. Laptop w/wireless network
Noptify.exe is constantly running taking my cpu +90%.
I have a sony home comp that doesn't have Noptify.exe. Does anyone know what this is or how to turn this off? It is not listed on McAfee or Nortons virus list. Any help would be greatly apprecieated.

It appears to be a Verizon product and you can probably stop it in your Verizon settings. If not you can run HijackThis and we can probably tell you how to fix it...
To run HJT, extract it to a permanent folder such as C:\Documents or one you create like C:\HJT. Close all browsers and make sure that all programs are enabled if you use msconfig. Run it and Scan, then Save the log. When the log window appears, Right click to copy it, open your browser and come here to post the log. Do not make any changes until it is checked since most items are either benign or essential to the computer.

Please post replies in your original thread because it confuses everyone.
HJT removes stuff easily, but is powerful, only remove items experts tell you to.

HijackThis also mainly removes Registry entries, you usually have to find and delete the actual files manually if they are on the drive. As PrntRhd said, I am not entirely sure what you are referring to since you started a new thread...
To avoid starting a new thread accidently, DO NOT enter a Subject. New threads will not post without something listed as a Subject and you do not need a Subject to simply Post. If you have already written your post and realize that you are starting a New Thread, you can copy what you wrote, go back to the thread you were in and paste your post into a Reply....
