I just thought that someone might find this interesting...

Interesting!

While there are some items on that list I would agree with, there are some, which, while true are not necessarily an advantage! Activex controls for one are a crackers dream!

On the ease of use, I can't really comment. Only used a mac once, and the mouse was so small and uncomfortable to use I gave up!

I would certainly agree on the costs.
Macs are expensive to buy and expensive to upgrade or repair.
I installed a new HD in a mac, and the owner was surprised by how little I charged compared with a mac dealer.

I think that macs were easier to use for non-computer literate people when they first came out, and were taken up by publishers/graphices designers who could not afford the time and effort needed to drive MSDOS. That led to graphics.publishing programs being written for the mac, thus perpetuating the niche market.

AFAIK, there is very little difference between graphics/publishing on PC or Mac now, but if someone knows better then shoot me down!

My sister, a photographer, would probably want to shoot you down on that, she thinks a mac is far superior for graphics work. I disagree with her.

A number of the points on that site I would consider outright lies or exaggerations, particularly as it seems slightly dated and refers only to 95/98 specifically.

# Practically all programming languages are available only for the PC.
Far as I'm aware programming languages are available on just about all platforms, except maybe the M$ specific ones.

# Many applications are only available on the PC
I wont even get started, I've seen variations of this one cause flame wars on a Linux forum.

# PCs consist over 95% of the market, and growing
Not likely since their reference seems to be PC=Windows.

The Windows Recycle Bin is more sophisticated than the Mac-OS Trash
So?

Windows allows users to assign sounds to different events; Mac-OS cannot
Which gets annoying after a short time so whats the point.

Windows 95/98 Registry is more advanced than the format used by Mac-OS
Dont know the technical details but for Mac to be that bad would take a deliberate effort IMO.

Windows is far more advanced than Mac-OS in handling memory
Given this thing is refering to 95/98 thats a blatant lie. 9x has terrible memory handling and doesnt even implement full memory protection. And more than 512 Meg? dont get you hopes up without some effort.

Windows is far more stable than Mac-OS
What planet were they on when they wrote that one?

Windows integrates with ActiveX technology, giving power to your desktop
They left out the words "to somebody else" off the end of that sentence.

I could probably find fault with more but I should really stop now.

RE: graphics in PC vs. Mac...

I have a friend who is art director for a big web design company and they have converted almost entirely to PCs over the last few years since the majority of rapidly evolving graphics software is available in PCs and the majority of other systems out there are PCs. They keep some Macs around to make sure things will show well on them, but they don't do much work on them anymore...
