Hi,

I would like to know if there is any way through software that I can wakeup the PC from standby mode. I need my PC to wake up at predetermined time, perform some tasks and goback to standby mode again. No external connections. Any suggestions are highly apprciated.

I have an Intel Pentium 4 PC with Windows XP Home installed.

Thanks,
Dileep

Welcome to The PC Guide Dileep,

You can use the task scheduler to do it, I believe. I have not checked, but you may need to ensure certain things to achieve that.

Create a new task by going to system tools, scheduled task
Set the properties of scheduled tasks to wake the pc to run the task.
To prevent XP from prompting for a password when the computer resumes from standby, go to Control Panel, Power Options. On the Advanced tab remove the check from "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby.
Post back the result.
