can't download

Hi folks:

I just did a recovery disk on my Compaq/WinMe Pressario desk top. Everything is looking good, got spybot working, defragged easy, everything looks fine. Problem is when I get an e-mail with attachemnts, Hotmail or MSN, it will not download. It just gives me a new window with the msn passport login page...endlessly. If I get it in my Earthlink mail box I can download it fine.

Question is not so much what is going on here, that would be nice to know, but also-- is there a real Windows or MSN support page that will respond. I have tried every possible MSN/Windows support page I could find, and I never get an answer. I tried (I guess what used-to-be) their bugreporter address, and got no response, (not even an auto-repsonder) from that either.

Any ideas? Oh, yes, I have a friend in Calleefawnya that has the same problem.

Ah, forgot to mention. I no longer get notified by e-mail when there is a response to my postings. I clicked on 'subscribe to this thread' below this time and last time, but still didn't get an e-mail notification last time I posted. I just checked to make sure 'get email notification' is checked below also. //DS

Just a thought since noone's responded - could both these issues be related to the loss of your original cookies? Need to get properly logged on again with cookies enabled to both sites maybe.
