Hi there, I have in asdl broadband connection and I need a router that will allow me to have 2 pc's online simultaneously.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Noth that I already have a modem so a router that doesn't contain a modem would be fine I think.

I have used Linksys without any problem and with excellent results. They have excellent tech support.
I can now set up a linksys router within 15 minutes....
Good Luck
BTW: If the DSL provider gives you software DO NOT install it. It will interfere with the router.

I use a router by D-link. Haven't had a glitch in the entire year since I bought it, can definitly recommend it.

Cisco 2600 Series:D
Seriously I would go with Linksys, very easy to set up.

Linksy's (http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/hardware/networking/productView.htm?quicklinx=25D5&familyid=172)
D-Link (http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/hardware/networking/productView.htm?quicklinx=24JJ)
Both are equally easy to set up, both have built in firewalls and both are excellent routers.:)

karatekid3d, LOL! I'd like one of those! :D
I've dealt with both a Liksys and a Belkin router. I liked the Liksys better. Also, I've never used one but I'm sure a Netgear router would work well too.

Thought I would jump in here as another Linksys fan.
Excellent product and easy to set up- I have two of them! (Both 4 Port)
After a lightning storm burned out two of my ports last summer, I can also tell you that they have great Tech support. They sent me a new one no questions asked. And the Warranty period had actually expired!
(Of course, the enclosed letter telling them what a great Company they were and how I would "spread the word" probably helped). :p

Ditto to a D-Link router. Setup was easy and I have had it for 2 years with zero problems.
I also have to say Linksys
Remember one thing above all else
After you install the router read the documentation and run the router setup
Specifically the ( Administrator logon and password )
CHANGE BOTH to something other than the default
But to something you can remember or better yet write down and Not loose

Even though mooton may have already gotten a router by now, thought I might add my two cents worth for future reference to others.
What is equally important as the brand is the type of connection.
There is wired and wireless. There are two problems concerning the wireless type.
1. The 2.4GHz frequency interference.
2. Security.
The 2.4GHz frequency interference can be cause by neighboring 2.4GHz devices. Such as cordless phones, microwaves, and if you live in a apartment, other 2.4GHz wireless networks. Though all this can be avoided by distance from each other.
There is a router by NetGear that can scan the 2.4GHz spectrum to find a clean frequency, but as it does so, there may be lag.
There is a 5GHz frequency, but those cost like three to four times as much.
As far as security is concerned, certain "well knowledgeable hackers"* can hack into a wireless system. The hacker would have access to your Internet access and even your computer if you have file sharing enabled.
* A well knowledgeable hacker is not a typical average hacker. This type of person completely understands what to look for and has the tools (software/hardware) needed when it comes to wireless networks.
If anything the 2.4GHz frequency interference will cause more problems than a hacker tapping in your system.
Wireless is not a bad thing and shouldn't be avoided. But if someone is considering getting wireless, these two points should be addressed.
Myself, I went with a D-Link wired. I only have two computers within the same room. If I had to expand to other rooms and or had a laptop that I needed mobile Internet access, I would get wireless.
