hey guys

I need your option please to see if this harddrive would be compatable with my system heres the specs for my MoBo, after that list I list the Harddrive specs. Now this new harddrive will be added as a slave if that matters.

It should work, but it looks like your IDE is a DMA66 max. This means that you won't reach the capabilities of the ATA100 hard drive

You saying its no good for me? ATA/100 won't be work very well with my system ?

It will work, but not reach its maximu speed/potential...

ohhh ok
Well sense it'll be a second HD I guess there won't be any harm installing in even though it won't reach max speed basically I just store stuff I rarely use but still need(pics, progams, files, etc) everyday use programs I'll run with my master.

thanks for the quick reply guys.

About the only way to find a 33/66 ATA drive these days is used on eBay...

You can get some DMA66 drives HERE (http://www.compgeeks.com/products.asp?cat=HDD) .

Scroll down the list. There are several in there. I've bought several things from this company. Always good service. :)

those are all used I was lookin for new (less problems). Is there anything I can add so I can use the maximum speed/potential, like changing or adding a hard drive interface card?

Basically....no, you won't find very many places selling new ones.

Also the ATA rating is not going to be important to your system...the rest of it, even with a new IDE card will not be up to handling the full 100/133 efficiently....

The spindle speed of the drive will be more of an improvement than ATA 100 over ATA 66 will be.

My may concern was running into problems after I purchased and being able to return it but you cleared that up for me thanks.
