Hi folks and Happy New Year!.....
I'am currently running a very reliable, but slighty outdated Pionex 500mhz P3,63megs ram,Win98 sec.ed. I like this pc and it has given great service but I'am noticing problems playing certain games(severe display stuttering with rapid clicking).I would like to purchase Battlefield 1942 to play. It's minimal requirements are a 500mhz,64ram and Win98,so as u can see I'm barely there.Any reccomendations on a system set-up or brand,or what I should consider doing to this pc is greatly appreciated.
:p

How much are you willing to spend and how comfortable would you be with building your own?????

Also: besides gaming: what are you going to use this system for? Do you have special requirements for sounds / video / ... / ... ? Are you going to keep the old system intact, or are you going to use certain parts in the new pc (hdds, optical drives,...)

Thanks for the replies....
I'am using this pc primarily for internet surfing, gaming, digital photography/scanning mostly.I use it for my business as well(printing invoices, etc).Of course i would like to spend as little as needed but would be willing to spend up to $1,000 if necessary.I was considering just replacing my tower and maybe the monitor(to a flat screen). The flat screen is not essential, just space saving.I use a cable modem(ISP).
Do i need the P4 HT technology:confused: Someone i know mentioned the Tiger systems?
I would like to keep my present system intact unless you have any idea's.Although I could probably build my own system I feel I'am going to run into too many issues like compatability,set-up,etc.

For $1000 you can get or build a pretty nice computer. If you want to go with building your own, we can direct you to good equipment and vendors. If you want a prebuilt, I suggest going to a reputable venfor that will build one for you so that you can specify the components.... We can suggests options for that as well....
