Upgrade Problem

i have recently bought an upgrade version of windows xp, but when i wanted to install it i got an upgrade report for any hardware or software incompatibility
i got this message:
please note that some of the following entries might be software that is registered as hardware
1394 bus controller
texas instruments lynx compatible ieee 1394 host controller
imaging device
hewlett-packard scanjet 4300c
modem
suprasst 56i pro dfv

it actually says to me that i have to upgrade each one of them, but i do not know how to upgrade 1394 host controller, i don't know what it is.
i have tried to upgrade it before but failed
