View Full Version : Can't get into my BIOS either. Missing DIAGX disc

I have a 1988 era Unysis Personal Workstation2 Series 850 with
DOS 5 as the operating system. It had a single 5 1/4 floppy installed
in A which worked fine.

I installed an additional 5 1/4 3 1/2 floppy into "B" but now neither
work (just lights up then gives the retry, abort, fail message.) When
I reconnect just the original one it works. My manual says I need to change the BIOS. All well and good but none of the tips to open it worked [tried all the ones listed on the PC guide page]. And the screen on this early machine (unlike the new ones) doesn't say what to do. And here is the rub - the manual says it will support all the hardware I'm trying to put in if I put the DIAGX diagnostics diskette into Drive A and use choice 8 - Set Up the System.

But I didn't get any DIAGX disk with my computer manual (bought the computer years ago used). Any ideas? Any one know where you could download a copy of this DIAGX disk. I tried the one I have for another IBM machine but it said this is not an IBM machine. I looked at Unysis but could find nothing at their site.

Any one know what the key strokes to enter an early Unysis BIOS might be or where such a disk could be obtained? Thanks for your help in advance.
