I friend of mine is receiving suddently from this morning this error message when booting:
"Cannot find system.ini"
"boot with emergency disk and type scanreg/restore"
these messages are new for me! what are they cused by? and what made the system.ini file disppear? is it a virus? the hard rive is broken?

is this windows 95 did this person try to install omar sharif bridge?
did you boot with the disk and do what the message told you?

If your receiving that message then registry is corrupted some how. Reboot and hold down f8 and select command prompt. Then type scanreg/restore or scanreg /restore( with a space between)
Then select a previous date. If it doesnt work choose another one.
After that if it boots , scan your cpu for viruses . see ya

also, when doing scanreg /restore only try going back 3 days if you can, sometimes I have found that if you try to go back 4 or 5 days it won't (successfully) and then you will have to try scanreg /fix.
