Hi i have a ADVENT 6412DVD, pentium 3 1ghz , 128mb ram , cable connection through a network card ,and OS is windows me.

Only the other day this started happening but whats it mean????

I was using my mouse ( which is plugged in the back ) and it suddenly for no reason froze up. But when i touched the mouse pad on the laptop i was able to carry on.

I pulled the mouse out the back of the laptop and pluged it back in and it worked again.

But will freeze up again within 10 min....

IT ONLY STARTED HAPPENING TODAY! can any one help me

massive thanks in advance

Boot into safe-mode and go to DeviceManager and see if, by any chance there are more than one set of drivers listed for the mouse...if so remove the duplicates and reboot. Also you may want to look for any other duplicates of any other devices.

If that doesn't help or there aren't any duplicates try uninstalling the mouse driver acompletaly (most often removing it from Device Manager, once agaoin in safe mode will do it) and letting Windows reinstall it...
