Can DVD recording be put to VHS?

I have a relative who has sent me some camcorder footage. He has put the film on CD-ROM. I have played the CD-ROM on my DVD player. I want to know if it is possible to transfer the DVD recording to standard VHS?

The DVD and VHS are separate entities and I have Scart cables for both.

Yes.

The DVD player will have RCA jack outputs for video (yellow) and audio (red and white) that you can connect to the inputs of a VHS recorder. All you need is the cable with RCA jack connectors on each end.
