I had installed linux on my machine through the automated process, and it loaded its boot file in the MBR. After some time I destroyed the linux partition, and now each time I start my system it first reads the linux boot file and displays a message to choose between the operating systems. My other operating system is Windows 2000. At this point I have to select Windows 2000.

Is there a way I can remove the linux boot information without totally formatting my drive and reinstalling windows.

To remove the Linux LILO boot loader from the MBR of your hard drive click here (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q171/6/11.ASP). It is a link to the Microsoft KB article with instructions on how to remove it with or without Linux installed.

Alright who messed it up this time!

Or simply edit the boot.ini file and erase the listing for Liunx.
