My screen is out of alignment. It is moved to the left, so I cannot see everything on that side. I have a black bar on the right side due to this problem. My external monitor adjustment buttons do not seem to be working. I press them and no menu comes up. The screen goes black and then returns to the same problem I currently have. Are there any downloads I can use to adjust the horizontal and vertical movements on my screen. Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Shayne

Hello and welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif

Depending on your video drivers, you can adjust that in software. Right-click on your desktop, click properties, the click the settings tab. Then click the advanced button. From there, look through whatever menus/tabs are available (this will depend on what drivers are installed) and look for some sort of screen adjustment.

Hope that works for ya!

Thanks for the reply,
I used to have a tab under advanced settings. It had 4 arrows that I could click to move my screen vertically and horizontally, but now it too is gone. Anyway to get that back. Can I re-install my driver, and if so how can I go about doing that? Any other ideas?

Thanks again,

For Win9x:
Hit your Windows key and [Pause/Break] simultaneously. This should open up your system properties. From there, click the device manager tab*, and then expand the Display adapters to display your video card. Highlight it, and click remove. You may also have to remove the driver from the Add/Remove programs utility in the control panel. Reboot. If all goes well, windows should come up in VGA mode (640x480x16) and tell you it found new hardware (your video card). If your video card's drivers are packaged in an executable installer, click cancel and launch the install for the driver. Otherwise chose search for the driver, click browse, and tell it where to look.

*If you have Win2K or later, you will have to click the hardware tab and then the device manager button.

I feel for you.

That's not much help, and this thread is two weeks old. Stick to threads that seem currently active and offer some constructive assistance please.

unless of course you need assistance with something, but in that case it's best to start a new thread.
