Today my A+ cert teacher show us a movie or rather a short clip about how Bill Gates stole the GUI from Steve Jobs. It was really funny, the actor that is.:D
So did this really happen or just some rumor spread by people who dislike Bill and M$?

Actually the GUI was supposedly stolen by Steve from Xerox PARC, but the courts said OK.

Ya I heard about that too. How Xerox gathered up all the smartest people and tell them to come up with a really good invention. But Xerox fail to take advantage of what was invented.

The Xerox computer was called the Alto, it had GUI touch screen if I remember right.
Xerox corporate shut down project, said Xerox was copier company, don't waste time on computers. Bonehead move, huh?

The way I heard it was Steve was actually visiting Xerox when he saw the GUI, and Xerox sold it to him for a tiny amount cause they thought it was useless.

Well Xerox sued Steve over the GUI...and lost,
then Steve sued Bill over "Windows"....and lost.

Xerox could have owned a piece of every desktop in the world using GUI, big loss! Of course they also could have been sued after WIN95, lol.
