i would like to create a boot disk for XP. I need to partition my drive and would like to try Fdisk. It may be a steep learning curve but i believe it would be worthwhile. Any way. Is there any where i can down load a boot diak in order to attempt my partitioning trials. eg would a win 98 boot disk be ok for me etc etc.
Any help would be appreciated.

XP uses the CD to boot, partition and format from all in one. If you insert the cd and reboot it should ask what device to boot from and if you choose cd, you'll get more prompts from there.

If you already have WinXP installed, it will also allow you to partition and format any unpartitioned sections from within Windoze....

colin,
I've found using fdisk to partition a HDD prior to installing XP is a good way to go. Just don't bother formating the drive. When you are done with fdisk, put the XP disk in the CD drive and reboot. You can format and install from the XP disk.
