Hello group,
a PC l have hangs/freezes when the connection to the net is dropped. I'm running IE5.5 with a 36k modem. I'm going to download the latest modem drivers.
Has anyone any other suggestions on what it maybe.
The PC is an evergreen 333 upgrade processor,32mb ram and Win98.

Did you by any chance load new software on youir cpu, if you did uninstall it and see if that helps out.

By dropped you mean your ISP kicked you or your modem stopped sending packets. Either way your computer locks cause it's trying to do a process and it was interrupted. Ctrl+ALT+DEL and end task on Rnaap, this is the dial-up process. You may won't to get a faster modem then optimize it, CNET has some good articles on how to do that.
