My younger brother coerced me into loading XP onto a laptop w/ only 133 Mhz. XP said it wasn't compatable, I didn't listen. How can I "uninstall" XP? It won't logon, even in safe mode, because some file is corrupted. If anyone can help, I would be grateful. Thanks.:)

You probably will need to blow out (format/reload) and install a different OS. 98SE would be my choice.

How can I reformat from the boot menu? I cannot figure that out.

The simplest option would be to go to Bootdisk.com (http://www.bootdisk.com) and download a Win98 bootdisk. You install it on a floppy disk and use it to run Fdisk and remove partitions from the hard drive. You can then format it and install Win98.....

It wouldn't work. "Remove disk and press any key to continue." Any suggestions?

It sounds like you didn't get a good boot disk... You could try downloading and setting it up on a floppy again. If you have Win98 on another computer, you could also just create the bootdisk there and use it. If you look at the floppy, it should have the basic Windoze system files on it. You might also need to check in BIOS and set your computer up to boot to floppy first... come to think of it, that may be the place to start and then try your bootdisk again....
