View Full Version : no cold boot for Win98

Very often, my PC won't cold boot into Win98, this being a multi-booting setup(the other OS is XP). It then takes restarting the PC to get it to boot successfully. I'm sure this is related to some hard drive setting(perhaps boot.ini) but I don't know which one.
Anyone have an idea or familiar with this issue?
Thanks

How much RAM are you using?? If I remember Win98 gets indigestion with more than 512Mb RAM....

I should add that this same issue doesn't arise with my other PC that is also multi-boot but has a different processor(Athlon XP) and motherboard(Asus). Matter of fact I just sold another PC that likewise was multi-boot and that also had a different processor(a Pentium IV as opposed to the current P3 Celeron) but the same brand of Mobo and it too did not have this booting problem.
