since the purpose of config.sys is only loading the dos device drivers , so when we open it in win 9x , we find nothing . is it ok ? then where the device drivers such as modems , printers , go ? and i want a GOOD detailed place which describe the differents between msdos.sys , io.sys , config.sys and autoexec.bat . thanks a ton for your help

If your running windows 98 or above
If you are not running true dos programs in pure dos mode
you donít need config.sys or autoexec.bat
they are for DOS use only

IO.sys = In Out system
Communicating within the basic computer
To the operator

Microsoft Disk Operating System
The name tells the story
How the basic computer communicates with the base computer
