Is it logical to play Max Payne-2 without having played "Max Payne"?

Play the first to get the feel, story of the game, you will be missing out on a good game if you jump stright to the second.

I agree (sort of). If you can find some way to rent the first one, I would do that. To get a feel for the story, like Jiggy said. Otherwise, the first Max Payne should be pretty darn cheap these days!
