Hi Linux Gurus,

I am not able to go to any website.

Here is my configuration:

Red Hat Linux ES 2.4.9-e.12 (kernel version).

I have a DSL connection at home. My DSL modem is connected to Linksys router (its own IP address is 192.1687.1.1). I have two machines connected to this router. One is Windows PC (IP address 192.168.1.100) and the linux bos (IP address 192.168.1.101)

After going tons of documents on setting the networking up. I am able to ping from linux box to windows PC (using ip address). I am also able to ping the router from linux (again using IP address). I also tried pinging yahoo (using IP address) it worked fine. However when I try to ping yahoo using "ping www.yahoo.com" I get an error message saying "unknown host www.yahoo.com". Moreover when I use Mozilla to go to yahoo's website (or for that matter any website) I get an error message "www.yahoo.com could not be found. Please check your name and try again".

Can somebody help me figure out what is missing here to take care of this problem.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Rajesh.

Please reply in your original thread (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28216) related to his machine rather than starting a new one.
