Do you have an onboard sound card as well as your new PCI card? When you go to Sounds and Multimedia under Control Panel, click on a sound with a speaker next to it then click the Play button that looks like dark triangle. Is the Play button grayed out or does it look like it plays? If it looks like it plays then here's what I would do. Put in a music CD or play an MP3. Let it play even though you can't hear it. Now double click the speaker icon on the bottom right hand side of your computer, click Options, then Properties, make sure the Play back radio button is selected then put a check mark in all your boxes, click OK. Now uncheck any relevant Mute buttons and adjust the volume as needed. It depends on how your sound is set up which one/s. If still no sound, go to the back of your computer unplug the speaker connector and plug it into the black hole, try the green hole. Do this with the music on and you will know instantly when you've done the right thing.
Post back if it didn't work.

When i go to Sounds and Multimedia under Control Panel, and click on a sound with a speaker next to it and then click the Play button that looks like dark triangle. The triangle is in grey so i can't play it. Ive tried 2 put the speaker plug into a different colour but still no sound.

You may want to check the hardware settings first under system properties

also Install the drivers from Creative

Ok, if its gray then it's an installation problem. I would go to Device Manager and Remove the sound card and its components. Open up the box and put the sound card in another slot. Boot to your BIOS and go to the Onboard Peripherals section and make sure you do not have an onboard sound controller, if you do disable it. save and exit BIOS. Does windows find the hardware when the Operating system loads? If it does and still no sound it is very likly loading the wrong driver. I would down load a new version of the driver and run the installation exe.
